It can be used for:
- Trail riding

Its versatile design makes it suitable for riders who want a Western saddle that can be used across several recreational activities.
13″ to 17″ Seat Sizes
The 13″ to 17″ seat range offers flexibility for riders of different sizes.
Choosing the correct Western saddle seat size is important for rider comfort and balance. The ideal size depends on the rider’s height, hip width, thigh length, riding position and personal preference.
When selecting a seat, consider:
- Rider body proportions
- Thigh length
- Hip width
- Preferred seat position
- Seat depth
- Available leg room
- The dimensions of a saddle you already find comfortable
Because saddle measurements and seat shapes can vary between models, comparing measurements is recommended before purchase.
Circle Y Flex2 Tree
The Flex2 tree is a defining feature of this Circle Y trail saddle. Flexible-tree technology is designed to combine the structure of a Western saddle with controlled flexibility.
This can be appealing to riders looking for a flexible tree Western saddle that provides a supportive riding platform while accommodating natural movement.
It is important to remember that Flex2 does not mean the saddle will fit every horse. Horses have individual back shapes, shoulder widths, withers and conformation.
Always assess the saddle on the intended horse before riding.
Correct Horse Saddle Fit
Proper saddle fit is essential for both horse comfort and rider balance.
Before using the Sunflower Flex2, check:
- Wither clearance
- Spinal clearance
- Shoulder freedom
- Tree compatibility
- Saddle balance
- Saddle stability
- Back length
- Pressure distribution
- Horse movement
A saddle should sit evenly and securely without restricting the horse’s natural movement.
If you’re uncertain about fit, a qualified saddle fitter can help evaluate the saddle and horse together.
Comfortable Western Riding
The Sunflower Flex2 Trail Saddle is suited to riders who enjoy the supportive feel of traditional Western tack.
Its Western configuration can provide a secure riding platform for recreational activities while maintaining the classic appearance associated with Western saddles.
For longer rides, correct fit becomes especially important. Both the rider and horse should remain comfortable throughout the session.
Versatile for Pleasure & Ranch Riding
The Circle Y Sunflower Flex2 can be used for more than trail riding.
Pleasure Riding
Enjoy relaxed Western riding and everyday recreational outings.
Ranch Riding
A practical choice for general outdoor and ranch-style riding activities.
Hacking
Suitable for riders who prefer Western tack when riding outside the arena.
Schooling
Can be used for general schooling and horse training when correctly fitted.
Recreational Riding
Ideal for riders who want a versatile saddle for regular leisure riding.

Choosing the Right Seat Size
A 13″ Western saddle may be appropriate for a smaller rider, while 14″, 15″, 16″ and 17″ seats provide progressively more room.
However, seat size is not determined by height alone. Thigh length, hip width and preferred riding position all influence the correct fit.
Where possible, sit in the saddle or compare its dimensions with a Western saddle that you already find comfortable.
Used or Pre-Owned Saddle Considerations
If the specific saddle is listed as used or pre-owned, normal signs of previous use may be visible.
Inspect the saddle carefully before purchase, including:
- Seat
- Fenders
- Skirts
- Rigging
- Tree
- Horn
- Stirrup attachments
- Cinch attachments
- Stitching
- Hardware
- Leather condition
- Signs of repair
- Overall structural condition
Minor cosmetic wear may be expected with used Western tack. Structural components should be carefully inspected before riding.
Saddle Care & Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps preserve the appearance and condition of your Western saddle.
After riding:
- Remove dirt, dust and loose hair.
- Wipe away sweat and moisture.
- Clean leather with an appropriate saddle cleaner.
- Condition leather when recommended.
- Inspect rigging and stitching.
- Check hardware and stirrup attachments.
- Allow damp leather to dry naturally.
- Store the saddle in a dry, ventilated area.
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture, heat or direct sunlight.
